2025 - 2026

The Italian luxury hospitality group ROMEO Collection, renowned for its innovative vision and commitment to ethical and sustainable luxury, commissioned the renovation of a historic 16th-century palace to create an exclusive 74-room hotel. ROMEO Hadid Roma blends art, architecture, design, gastronomy, and well-being, representing a new vision of urban hospitality that combines beauty, functionality, and innovation. The hotel aims to add value through the integration of design and art, featuring works by contemporary artists such as Christian Leperino, Mario Schifano, Mimmo Paladino, and Francesco Clemente.

ROMEO Collection aspires to establish a small collection of hotels reflecting authentic values and redefining service, comfort, and connection with the city. ROMEO Hadid Roma features 74 rooms and suites across 13 categories, dining by Alain Ducasse, LA SPA by Sisley Paris, and a series of gardens, courtyards, terraces, and a swimming pool. Early excavations revealed a Roman wall and an undocumented bottega with opus reticulatum. A 90-square-metre underground gallery was created beneath the garden, with a glazed ceiling serving as the pool floor, allowing guests to view the archaeological site.
Taking inspiration from the palace’s preserved architectural elements, Alfredo Romeo commissioned Zaha Hadid to design interiors that avoid repetition, merging contemporary forms with historic architecture.

Common services occupy a single ground floor to enable seamless circulation, while guest rooms on upper levels ensure privacy. Outdoor spaces, including the courtyard, terraces, and rooftop garden, provide light, views, and social spaces, with the pool positioned to maximise sunlight and reveal the ruins beneath. The hotel’s rooms and suites celebrate the harmony of heritage and modern design, featuring bespoke furniture, fireplaces by Hadid, and luxurious materials including Nero Marquina and Carrara marble, ebony and walnut woods, and restored 17th-century frescoes.

ROMEO Hadid Roma embodies a holistic experience of hospitality, art, and history in the heart of the Eternal City.
