Cohesion is a residential interior apartment project designed by PJ Design for an entrepreneur and his family. With extreme attention to detail, PJ Design achieved a home which meets every single requirement without any compromise.
Cohesion uses modern minimalism as the foundation. Large surfaces are kept simple while intricate details introduce a touch of subtle luxury.
Original partitions were removed to improve circulation, with common areas in the centre and private areas on each side. Upon entry, a fluted glass screen, paired with floor-to-ceiling windows, intuitively redirects the flow of movement horizontally. A display platform at the entrance showcases rotating pieces, enriching the family’s daily routines.
Display platforms are installed for the family’s love for art and pottery. Heirlooms and original artworks are incorporated seamlessly into the spatial design. PJ Design took the owners’ family heirlooms and art collections into consideration when planning the interior, integrating them so the warmth of the family flows seamlessly into the overall aesthetic.
In the kitchen, the cabinetry dimensions are custom-tailored to accommodate the family’s collection of cutlery and kitchenware. Bolon carpets are used in the study and bedrooms
for easy maintenance and allergen reduction, with extra padding beneath to increase comfort and soundproofing.
To minimise environmental impact, the project uses green materials such as non-toxic paints and eco-friendly calcium silicate board.
