Residential Interior Private Residence Taiwan

In the eyes of many people, interior design may just be about decorating the space beautifully and comfortably. However, for experienced designers, the real design is to inject life into a cold space and create a unique story for the residents. Ink Realm by Hozhao Interior is grounded in this idea. The core concept of this work is to give vitality to the space and let the design return to the essence of the residents’ lives. The designer deeply understands the owner’s living habits, needs, and future changes, and integrates “flexible” elements into the space, emphasising practicality and human-centred design at every step.

From floor heating and kitchen fume treatment to air circulation and bedroom sound insulation, every detail was carefully planned for daily living. Hozhao Interior’s consideration goes beyond visual composition, focusing on how people move, rest and interact within  the home. The team also accounts for long-term living needs, reserving flexible space to support a “changeable life” and sustainable use over time.

Taiwan is located in an island climate zone with high humidity. In response, Hozhao Interior was committed to using natural building materials. Natural charcoal, diatomaceous earth, and other environmentally responsive materials help regulate indoor temperature and humidity, purify the air, and support carbon reduction goals. From the air conditioning system to the drainage system, installations operate independently to reduce cross-contamination and maintain healthy indoor environmental quality.

Views are maximised throughout. Semi-transparent book walls allow the living room and study to share wide sightlines without breaking up the space. Intelligent, light-sensitive heat-blocking blinds introduce natural daylight while reducing heat conduction. During the Covid-19 epidemic, Hozhao Interior used pre-site simulations and factory prefabrication to reduce the on-site construction period by more than 30 per cent. Labour on-site was also minimised, enabling faster, more accurate completion with less disruption.

Considering the homeowner’s cross-country lifestyle, a complete smart control system was installed. It connects air circulation functions, floor heating, light-sensitive electric blinds, and more. The entire system can be managed online at any time, creating a highly responsive and efficient smart home.

The social area features a circular corridor layout, encouraging a relaxed walking flow and a harmonious rhythm in daily life. An art collection was integrated across different parts of the home, making the space extremely eye-catching. As a retirement residence designed for long-term living, the space merges various functions with ease. Wide aisles, minimal barriers and flexible furnishings support both comfort and accessibility, especially for elderly residents, and ensure that the home can adapt as future needs arise.

Ink Realm reflects Hozhao Interior’s understanding that real design lives in the everyday: it is thoughtful, responsive, and ready for change, just like the people who live in it.
